On The Brink

It seems as though we’re living in a powder keg that some idiot is about to try to extinguish his cigarette in. OK,  so in reality there is more than one idiot, but that’s beside the point. I won’t name anyone, like Obama. We are literally on the brink of the most destructive war in the known history of mankind, a war described in the Bible that will kill ONE THIRD OF MANKIND. The war out of which the one titled as the Antichrist will emerge from to bring ‘peace’ and the majority of the masses will follow him blindly. The tyrannical takeover of our once great nation is only a small part of the scheme of things.

It pains me to watch so many people ignoring all the blatant warning signs and going on with their daily lives as if somehow, some way everything will be just fine. That nothing will change. That if something catastrophic did actually somehow happen, FEMA and the government would take good care of them. OH MY GOLLY SYRIA IS (allegedly) USING CHEMICAL WEAPONS WE HAVE TO DO SOMETHING!!!!!!!!!! That’s what our government is starting to say. Of course, our Commie-in-Chief will probably wait for an incident, like a false flag, to happen so that he can gain the public sentiment to invade Syria. What’s next after Syria? Iran? How many more innocent civilians are going to die for the sake of trying to save a dying dollar? How many more of our troops will be sacrificed for the war for oil… I mean, terror? And now there are articles flying around that Chinese troops have crossed the border with India. What’s next?

What’s next is not pretty. The Chinese hate us and want to take us out. The Russians hate us and want to take us out too. N Korea hates us and is like a Shi-Tzu that wants to join a fight being started by Pitbulls. Most of the middle east thinks that we are the Great Satan. They all want to share the love. Give us a bear hug. We must understand this and be ready. It is still my personal opinion that Russia and China will at least try to invade us. How successful they are remains to be seen, but I do believe they will at least try. Russia has been feigning weakness for decades and China is flexing their military muscle with increasing frequency, and what about America? America is talking about reducing our nuke arsenal and cutting the defense budget. All the while starting more wars. And ticking off major nuclear powers. And the American patriots. And God. And Muslims. OK, so God isn’t phased in the least with our weapons, but He does use other countries to punish the ones in judgement, read the Old Testament.

We need to be ready. Prepping is not a hobby. Survivalism is not a fad. Patriotism is not a trend. It is a way of life. Live it.

My Thoughts On North Korea

There’s been a lot of talk lately on both sides about the goings on with North Korea. N Korea threatening the US with nukes and China saying they want nothing to do with this, which could be bull. The US had a chopper crash near the border of N Korea but giving our own track record we may have shot it down ourselves to get closer to war. All over Asia, nations are bracing for impact. So, what on earth is going on?

Here is how I personally see it. China is backing N Korea, else N Korea wouldn’t be up to this crap. China’s economy is about to crash and they need a good war to push it back up. What N Korea does not understand is that China sees them as expendable. S Korea, however, may be a richer country, but militarily they can’t take care of themselves even against N Korea alone. They’d be crushed like a bug against China. So, S Korea leans on us for protection. We already have so much debt that I don’t know how much more war debt we can take. We are already fighting a few other small wars. China has far more troops than we do.

Here’s another thing I’m seeing in all this. China needs land. BIG TIME. Its no secret that they want Taiwan and N Korea isn’t the only trouble they are stirring up in that area. They are also threatening Japan over the Senkaku(?) islands among other spats they are creating in the region with our allies. The spats that they are creating are all close to their home, but across the ocean for us. If they were to, say, start a few more small wars in SE Asia and draw us in, we’d be in a bad position. Short supply lines for China, long supply lines for us. We’d be fighting on their terms, not ours. China would be most likely to gain the best defensible areas first, forcing us to fight uphill. Their more numerous army would take a much longer time to be spread thin. On top of all that, we will still have our wars in the middle east, and maybe even be going after Iran by then. The more wars we fight, the more front lines we must defend. The more front lines we must defend, the more our power is taken away from the US mainland. The more of our power that is put elsewhere, the more vulnerable the mainland is. See what I’m getting at?

OK, I know that China has been disowning N Korea in the UN. Could be the oldest trick in the book. Watch the left hand, watch the left hand, watch the left hand, and get slapped by the right hand.

Russia and China are good friends, both are our enemies. After what our IMF did to Russia in Cyprus, they will take revenge… on their time. The Russians are masters of the waiting game. They have been feigning weakness since the collapse of the Soviet Union. They know the game and they know that very soon we will be weak enough for an attack. Remember, they put a nuke sub in the Gulf of Mexico and we didn’t know about it until a week after it left. We are also messing with their allies in the middle east.

I don’t think Russia could win a war with us by itself. I don’t think China could win a war with us by itself. But what if they ganged up on us? What if the Russians put another nuke sub in the Gulf of Mexico and gave us an EMP? Think about it. This country has been seriously ticking Russia and China off for decades. They want blood. That, and I’m sure all those Chinese soldiers who can’t marry because of the shortage of women in their own country would just love to get them some American pussy.

N Korea? In the first Korean War, we axed those N Korean soldiers almost right off the bat and were fighting the Chinese for the rest of the war. Their half starved troops are no match for our boys, even if they have one of the largest armies in the world. I think that its not so much N Korea you have to watch, but China.

Both eyes open, folks.

The Post-SHTF Sewing Kit

The elastic of your underwear has worn out. It’s post-collapse of society. There are no stores selling underwear. There aren’t even any factories making elastic. What do you do? Your gutchies fall to your ankles before you can even get your pants on! Well, that sounds like a rather personal problem. Can you sew? What’s in your sewing kit? Those are two questions you have to ask yourself. I know that I can sew. I may only know a few basic stitches and what I make or repair doesn’t always look pretty, but it’s all FUNCTIONAL and that’s what matters. Honestly, looking too pretty SHTF would probably get a girl in trouble anyway, if you know what I mean. So, how would I fix this problem? Since I don’t know how long elastic lasts even when its not being used, I don’t store it. I’d make a cut down the front, back, or side of the underwear, hem both sides of the cut, draw it in til it fits , and sew on snaps. Make it work like pants.

If you’re like me and can’t make a button hole to save your life, snaps are your best friend. I can replace buttons and repair button holes, but I cannot make button holes. If I need to make clothes that need to button up, I will use snaps instead. Snaps come in all kinds of different sizes, so stock up on them all. Don’t forget to have buttons handy as well because I’m sure you’ll have to replace those too. It should goes without saying that every prepper should have jars full of needles, pins, and safety pins. I probably don’t have to tell you to fill a box full of good thread. Seam rippers are nice, and keep extra scissors around. Don’t get a whole lot of extra gadgetry. Use the KISS (Keep It Simple, Stupid) method. Before buying, ask yourself, Do I really need it or can I save money by getting by without it? For example, I don’t use thimbles or the little doohickeys that help you thread a needle. I’ve just gotten a lot better at not stabbing myself and I’ve gotten practiced at threading needles without aid. Saved a few cents and a lot of space.

Learn to sew by hand. In a long term grid down situation, an electric sewing machine will get you nowhere. If you can, try to find an old treadle powered sewing machine. You can still find old Singers around. Personally, I do all my sewing by hand because I’m too cheap to get myself a treadle powered number lol. Keep a small sewing kit in each of your sets of bug out gear. Save all your buttons and still working zippers from worn out clothes.

When society collapses, the more skills you have, the better. Even something as simple as being able to patch a pair of jeans or repair a shirt seam can make a big difference. May God grant you all peace.

Pride Goes Before A Destruction…

…And a haughty spirit before a fall. You’ll find those words in the Bible, Proverbs 16:18. That verse is exactly what I thought when I heard that the stock market was reaching record highs. Last time that happened, we had the crash of ’08 right after. What happened in 1929, right after the ‘Roaring Twenties’? People are lead to believe that a high stock market means that our economy is in full recovery. The fact is, we have been in a full blown depression since 2008. The powers that be can cook up all the ‘facts’ they want, nothing can change the truth that we are in serious trouble. Inflation keeps rising, as does unemployment. No where near enough jobs are being created to put a dent in those unemployment numbers. Everyone reading this probably does not have to be told that the only thing keeping the stock market up is the plunge protection team and a lot of wishful thinking. You can thank Bennie Bernanke for all the good his quantitative easing (QE) has done.

The only thing holding up the dollar right now is blind trust. This blind trust is beginning to rapidly dissipate into a noxious cloud of anger, hatred, and betrayal. Some are already losing trust: the BRICS  nations (Brazil, Russia, India, China, South Africa). Russia, China, and India have been buying Iranian oil with gold, not dollars. What a coincidence that our leaders here are chomping at the bit to invade Iran? Saving the dollar was the cause of our going into the middle east in the first place. We bombed a straight line through the mountains in Afghanistan under the premise of fighting Al-Qaeda  (whom the government can’t seem to decide whether or not they are our enemies) and the Taliban, invaded Iraq (who did not do a blame thing to us, the 9/11 hijackers were SAUDI ARABIANS, so why were we in Iraq?), monkeyed around in Pakistan a little, bombed the crap out of Libya, and now we’re arming and training Syrian rebels, many of whom are our enemy (ok, they’re our friends here) Al-Qaeda. Why? Afghanistan didn’t want the pipeline run through their mountains. Saddam wanted gold instead of dollars, same as Ahmadinejad does now. I don’t have a bloody clue what O-Bomb-a had against Libya and I’m still a little foggy on why our government wants Assad outed. Probably they are fed up with the bull hockey the bullies… I mean, LEADERS, of this country have been giving them. Now Iran is on the chopping block.

What would happen if the blind trust were to give way completely? I’m no expert in such matters, but it could go something like this: Realizing that the dollar is completely worthless, countries try to offload their dollars en mass. That means that all those trillions of dollars will have to go somewhere. Right. Back. Home. Coupled with all these QEs, which is a fancy term for inflation, all this worthless toilet paper is poured back into our markets, bringing hyper inflation of the likes we’ve never seen. It would suck.

How long will the dollar last as the world reserve currency? I don’t know. It should not have made it this long. That’s why I only keep enough cash in the bank to pay my bills. other than that, I don’t trust financial institutions. When I think of investing, I think of hard assets  like semi precious metals (brass, lead, steel), food, and medical supplies. Personally, I really don’t have the extra money to buy silver or gold, so I scrimp and save for what little gear I can get. There are countries preparing themselves for the fall of a haughty nation, are you?

Air Guns And Gun Laws

Sorry I haven’t been around in a while, I have been really busy. So now that I’m down with a bad cold and can justify taking it easy, I’m back. I’m sure by now everyone’s heard of what happened on that cruise ship. LOL LOL LOL. I’m sorry, but I kind of just don’t pity them. Instead of banding together, they turned into animals. In just two days. Reminds me why I don’t ever want to go on a cruise. Now imagine the power going out in all America. In NYC, the winds of Hurricane Sandy barely died down before the looting began!

Well, anyway, we here in the Free Soul Family found a new toy to put on our wish lists. Air rifles, no kidding. We found some air rifles in .45, .308, and .50 calibers that will put a bullet downrange some 150-200 yards, go through cement blocks, and even kill elk… fairly quietly. They’re around $700, $800 and you can buy a hand pump for them, making them a nice thing to have SHTF. Imagine finding a bunch of zombies sneaking up on your property and you and a few friends have these rifles. Its in the middle of the night. You and yours open fire. No muzzle flash, sounds no larger than a .22. Being not considered a firearm, you can have silencers on them legally. That also means your buddies who are ex-cons can have them! These air guns also come in pistol form and in a few other calibers.

I know I’m one who does not get into a lot of gadgetry, but these look pretty cool. If I’m still working this summer, and if I get that sweet summer bonus, I’m getting me one. Look up these rifles on YouTube, you won’t be disappointed. I believe they go under the name Dragon Claw.

Well, we can’t forget that the countdown to the deadline date on New York’s new Nazi gun law is still going and that our Patriot brothers and sisters in that state are forming militias as we speak. God bless every Patriot in New York State who will not bow down to tyranny. Also too, Colorado, I believe it was, has also passed some seriously bad Nazi gun laws. In fact, the company Magpull just pulled out of Colorado because of the laws. Things are ramping up, everyone, so get guns and ammo while you can. The price of even mosin nagants is skyrocketing!

Well, God bless everybody and may He grant you all peace.

Boots

Everyone here knows the importance of a good pair of boots. The type of boots doesn’t matter, as everyone has their favorite. The main thing is finding the type of boots you like that are of good quality and preferably cheap. We all know that in a long term SHTF situation that boots will become worth more than gold. Even good quality boots will wear out relatively quick with all the hard work you will have to do to survive a post collapse world, so it makes sense to stock up on boots now, right?

My favorite style of boots are the military combat boots because they are rugged, reliable, comfy, and have awesome ankle support. Most of the time I wear an old pair of hand me down jungle boots. Unfortunately, one of them flap-jacked on me. I refuse to throw them away because the treads are still great, so I duct taped the toe shut. For chores outside in the winter, I have a $30 pair of Gortex lined combat boots of good quality that I had found at a gun show. I also own a pair each of black and white mickeys. I have an undisclosed amount of boots that I will refer to as my ‘extra pair’.

I rarely buy a pair of boots at full cost. I find them cheap at gun shows, army surplus stores, and ebay. I once found a pair of size 10 combat boots in decent shape at a salvation army store. They were were super cheap and not in bad shape. The only bad part was that I’m a size 7, not a 10. I’ve gotten so cheap that I refuse to pay more than 30 bucks for good quality boots anymore because I’ve been blessed with that ‘extra pair’.

To get rid of any little nasties, spray a water and bleach solution into the inside. That should kill anything like fungi or bacteria. Don’t forget to break in you boots before storing them. If you have to run and grab a pair on the fly, you want them pre-broke. Lol, I shouldn’t have to tell anyone here to keep them oiled. In fact, boot oil and extra laces should also be on your stock up list.

As always, may God grant you all peace.

Quarantines

A good quarantine may be the one thing standing between your group and a nasty bug. Not just a perimeter quarantine, but also a quarantine area inside the perimeter. If you decide to take in skilled refugees or some friends or family show up a few days after the fact, you need to make sure that they aren’t bringing something with them. The best way to do that is to keep them in a  contained quarantine area for at least two weeks. Most nasty little bugs surface before then. You don’t need anything fancy, just a shelter, a heat source, and a few extra blankets. Some have suggested that you buy paper plates and plastic silverware for feeding those under quarantine, but if you do the math, it may not be a good idea. Say you take in 5 skilled refugees. You need to feed them 3 times a day for 2 weeks. 3 plates x 5 people = 15 plates per day x 14 days = 210 plates. Now take in more than one group of people. I’d say just stock up on a good dish soap and wash in water so piping hot that not even Satan would touch it. Also add vinegar to the rinse water to kill anything left. I’ve also heard some say that you need to use bio hazard suits and all what not. Bio hazard suits will be great to have around, but most of us can’t afford many at all, so those will be too precious to just wear and throw away working with those in quarantine. That is, unless you can wash them. Keep contact with those under quarantine to the bare minimum. The biggest thing is wash your hands after working with them and keep your immune system in top shape. Eating one raw clove of garlic a day is good for that, as is purple cone flower ( also known as echinacea), and oil of oregano. Eating plenty of good nutritious food, getting plenty of rest, and keeping clean will protect you substantially. I also recommend stocking up on latex or vinyl gloves. Remember, typhoid is not fun, and neither is an outbreak of dysentery in your group.

I cannot stress cleanliness enough. Stock up huge stockpiles of soap, please!

People do underestimate the immune system. If its not exposed at all to nasty bugs, it won’t know how to fight them if really under attack. I never take flu shots, but I get exposed to not only the flu, but also bronchitis and sometimes pneumonia every year and I don’t get sick. If you use common sense, you should be fine. If you have any other suggestions or tips, feel free to share in the comments. The more info the merrier! May God grant you all peace.
