The **** Has Already Hit The Fan

China’s got three ships in Japanese waters and Russia is one step away from attacking Israel. Lovely news to wake up to in the morning. Obama is taking a lot of flack for Benghazi and needs to distract the American people. So, what’s he gonna do? How much blood this time? Meanwhile, door to door searches in New Orleans as police treat innocent civilians like criminals after three guys fired into a crowd during the Mother’s Day parade. In Syria, Assad’s troops are gaining ground. Russia is helping them, of course. Now Obama is going to have to do something because if Assad wins, the dollar takes a major hit. It looks like we’ll have boots on the ground in Syria very soon. Obummer will have to if he and his bankster cronies want to keep the dollar propped up long enough to suck the last bit of financial blood out of us like vampires. We are in trouble, folks. There is no denying the crap hitting the fan. Yes, the crap is hitting the fan NOW. SHTF is not a future event, it is happening as I write. Just because it’s not quite really affecting you yet does not mean that it is not happening.

We are in for a world of hurt as God continues to take his hand out of our country and give us judgement instead. There will be more wars, famines, droughts, fires, earthquakes, volcanic eruptions, and all such calamities both man made and not. All of you who understand what is going on you need to prepare as you have never prepared before because the window of opportunity is closing fast. If you have never heard of Selco, who survived in a war torn city surrounded by enemies and cut off from the world for an entire year during the Balkan Wars, please Google shtfschool to find his blog. He has been kind enough to step out and tell his story: what an all out SHTF situation is really like and how to survive it.

World War Three has already begun and no one will get through unscathed. We are on our own with only God to turn to. Prepare for the worst and pray for the best. Keep your powder dry and your rifle clean. God bless.

Avoid The Avoidable Deaths

There are a lot of preppers who will die of stupidity SHTF. A lot of avoidable accidents will happen, many will be unprepared  for reality out of shear laziness no matter how much stuff they have stockpiled. What good is a gun is going to do a guy if he’s never practiced with it? What good is a book or DVD on tactical maneuvers are going to do a girl who is too fat to do the maneuvering? What good are all those fancy gadgets going to do a so called prepper if they can’t find them in a pile of other stuff? Take a good hard look at yourself. Is prepping really your lifestyle or do you treat it as more a hobby?

I know a lot of folks who call themselves preppers and a large portion of them don’t act like they take it seriously. These are often the ones who brag about how nothing will get past them, how they’d be just fine even in a nuclear holocaust, or how they’d be some sort of commando lurking like a ghost in the woods. These types buy an expensive, fancy gun with all kinds of bells and whistles (more to go wrong or break, in my humble opinion) and a thousand rounds of ammo for it and they suddenly morph into Rambo. They have no idea what real war is like, but they are sure that they are the next Captain America. Like most preppers, I haven’t got a clue on what real war is like either, but I tend to be a realist. I am not a commando, I am not Captainette America, I am not Miss Rambo and thinking that way will get me killed. Most likely, in a fight I would be up against those better than me. I am not a hero, I’d rather stick with a group headed by a veteran who does know what war is like because THAT person has the knowledge to make the split second decisions that would save our lives. I understand fully that there is a high chance that I could be hurt or even killed, so I remain cautious in my actions and thinking. Many of these I’m-a-Rambo preppers will be the ones actually hiding in a corner screaming like a little girl and wetting themselves once bullets start really flying and they see a few buddies get killed. Then they realize that real life is not the same as their favorite action movies (I do, however, recommend seeing a WW2 flick called The Thin Red Line. One of the most realistic war movies out there).

Another one of the biggest problems I see in the prepper community is weight. How on earth is someone who has allowed him/herself to get 300 pounds or more going to be able to engage a pack of zombies if they can’t hardly get out of their recliner? Such people are a cannibal’s dream come true. On top of that, being overweight has a huge range of other health issues. Those unaccustomed to hard work and are obese and are suddenly having to bust their butts in the hard SHTF life are at a very high risk for strokes and heart attacks. Many will die from those, and they are largely avoidable. Also health issues such as diabetes, which once a person is insulin dependent, can be a death sentence. The least the overweight will have to worry about is the toll all that extra weight has on their leg joints, back, and energy. In the event their group is overrun with zombies, the obese are voted as the group most likely to be screwed. It’s just plain common sense to take care of yourself. Eat fairly healthy, and don’t eat more than your metabolism can handle. Weight issues plague both the young and the old, it does not matter. Eat right, eat less, work more. Those three rules are the only diet you will ever need. It’s just a matter of will power.

Try to stay organized. Having you stuff scattered and being unable to find it when you need it can get you killed. Never walk around on night patrol with a flashlight to see your way around, because you are then a target (watch the TV series Falling Skies. They did that so much I wanted to cry). Pride is just as much your enemy as the cannibals and zombies. Control the fear you feel. If you allow fear to control you, you will lower your chances of surviving. Quit smoking. The health benefits are obvious, you will have more money to prep with, and it’s better to go through withdrawals now than later. The same with drinking too much or any type of drug abuse. You will need a clear mind, not an addled one.

Hope this helps. Free Soul in FEMA region 5 signing out.

On The Brink

It seems as though we’re living in a powder keg that some idiot is about to try to extinguish his cigarette in. OK,  so in reality there is more than one idiot, but that’s beside the point. I won’t name anyone, like Obama. We are literally on the brink of the most destructive war in the known history of mankind, a war described in the Bible that will kill ONE THIRD OF MANKIND. The war out of which the one titled as the Antichrist will emerge from to bring ‘peace’ and the majority of the masses will follow him blindly. The tyrannical takeover of our once great nation is only a small part of the scheme of things.

It pains me to watch so many people ignoring all the blatant warning signs and going on with their daily lives as if somehow, some way everything will be just fine. That nothing will change. That if something catastrophic did actually somehow happen, FEMA and the government would take good care of them. OH MY GOLLY SYRIA IS (allegedly) USING CHEMICAL WEAPONS WE HAVE TO DO SOMETHING!!!!!!!!!! That’s what our government is starting to say. Of course, our Commie-in-Chief will probably wait for an incident, like a false flag, to happen so that he can gain the public sentiment to invade Syria. What’s next after Syria? Iran? How many more innocent civilians are going to die for the sake of trying to save a dying dollar? How many more of our troops will be sacrificed for the war for oil… I mean, terror? And now there are articles flying around that Chinese troops have crossed the border with India. What’s next?

What’s next is not pretty. The Chinese hate us and want to take us out. The Russians hate us and want to take us out too. N Korea hates us and is like a Shi-Tzu that wants to join a fight being started by Pitbulls. Most of the middle east thinks that we are the Great Satan. They all want to share the love. Give us a bear hug. We must understand this and be ready. It is still my personal opinion that Russia and China will at least try to invade us. How successful they are remains to be seen, but I do believe they will at least try. Russia has been feigning weakness for decades and China is flexing their military muscle with increasing frequency, and what about America? America is talking about reducing our nuke arsenal and cutting the defense budget. All the while starting more wars. And ticking off major nuclear powers. And the American patriots. And God. And Muslims. OK, so God isn’t phased in the least with our weapons, but He does use other countries to punish the ones in judgement, read the Old Testament.

We need to be ready. Prepping is not a hobby. Survivalism is not a fad. Patriotism is not a trend. It is a way of life. Live it.

Death And Life

We experienced some rough spots at work and right now now its been kind of hard. We’re not lacking work, we just hired more people. It’s just that mortality has been staring at us in the face. My foreman was severely sick (either mega bronchitis or outright pneumonia) over Christmas AND a guy on first shift went in for surgery. Now my foreman is back on the injury list thanks to his sciatic nerve. Then the real tragedies strike: a coworker loses her baby and the man who owns the place dies right in the office. I have been forced to rethink things a bit. Free Soul Papa is lucky to be alive. He’s had 4 heart attacks and has to eat a handful of meds just to stay alive. With his health still slowly deteriorating, I’ve had to think about what I would have to do if he were to go on to heaven. Free Soul Papa is the driving force in this family and it would take a dozen people to fill his shoes. Could I do it? I don’t know, my feet are awfully small. And now I’ve got to face reality, one I haven’t wanted to even think of. I try to learn from him what I can, but my brain is just not wired for a lot of what he knows. It takes forever for me to learn even simple mechanics and carpentry, my brain is just not wired for it. His is, so he’s got this vast wealth of knowledge just waiting for a student. I try, but its very hard for me. Free Soul Boyfriend intends to be that student, for which I am grateful  I would hope that if we can both learn what we can from him, we can then work as a team when he is gone.

Nobody lives forever in this world. Both a baby and an old man died this week. Death does not discriminate on age, it just simply takes at its first opportunity. Half of living is avoiding dying. The other half of living is having fun while avoiding dying. Honestly, I’m not really afraid of dying, I know where I’m going. I’m washed in the blood of Jesus, I’ve got my eternal retirement plan covered. Its the responsibilities that would rest on my shoulders when Pops goes that makes me nervous. It would be up to me to keep the homestead going and make sure Free Soul Mama is taken care of. Would I be able to do it? Will I be able to keep things running? Today I ask myself these questions, I will need them in the future. May God grant you all peace.

Raiding The MORP

This is for entertainment purposes only. Please do not actually try this. I hate disclaimers to, but I don’t want to get in trouble.

MORPs, or ‘mobile organic resupply pods’ and best known as ‘zombies’. In the event of a major catastrophe in which the rule of law has completely disappeared and supplies could be hard to get, raiding MORPs will be the next best thing. And they’ll often come right to you, trying to steal what you have, so you won’t have to go very far. All you have to do is be smarter than they are, and as far as I know, the average zombie often doesn’t have two brain cells to rub together. At least, none of the zombies I know personally. However, some MORPs may have tactical training, so be careful. It is relevant to note that in the event of a foreign invasion, the enemy MORPs will have better training and better logistics that most of us American patriots, but that is a different ball game.

Say a gang of maybe 30 zombies are headed your way and refugees are able to tell the general direction in which they are coming from. You can then scout the zombies and formulate a good plan to get them before the arrive at your doorstep. Know your area of operations. Is there an area that you can funnel them into? Do you have good ambush points? Once your plan is formed, tweaked, and executed, then we can get to the business as mentioned in the title. Raiding dead zombies may be disturbing to some, but considering the fact that they will have things you need, toughen up. Remember, the zombies tried to kill you first. Don’t go for just the guns, ammo, and weaponry, take everything. Blood washes off, material can be disinfected from the zombie infection virus. Boots will be at a premium SHTF. Even if they don’t fit you, they can be bartered for things you need. Good heavy coats, gold and silver jewelry (wedding rings), decent jeans, even food and glasses can be salvaged. Remember, your first responsibility is to yourself, your family, and your group. Do everything you can to take care of them.

May God grant you peace and that things never get this bad.

Why I Live Now As I Prepare To Live Later

This is the focus of my lifestyle and blog site. This is what I hope to achieve. This is why I choose to live off-grid and reduce my dependency on outside food and fuel. This is the ultimate self-sufficiency. I’m not trying to reduce my dependence on people, just government. I still need community, but I also need to not have to panic when things go down long term. Besides, if I live now as I prepare to live later, I won’t have to worry about culture shock as much.

What I am doing is no different than what the pioneers and pilgrims did. What they couldn’t get they either made themselves or did without. They did not rely on government or the outside world for all their needs, they had to meet those needs themselves or die. They did not have food trucks and welfare. They did not have electricity and running water. They did not have modern medicine and weather satellites. No cell phones. No computers. No cars. No TVs and radios. Did it kill them? Not one bit. Guess what, they were some of the most self-sufficient folks in our history.

We live in an age of hyper-dependency to the government. If something goes a little wrong, people whine and cry to the government. More and more people give up their creativity and self reliance to suck on the government entitlement titty instead of standing up for themselves and screaming for real change. Real change like forcing the government to get out of all those trade treaties that ate up our jobs and sent them overseas. Real change like abolishing the Federal Reserve, the IRS, and putting the dollar back on the gold standard. We went from an era of mountain men and pioneers to debt laden people scrambling to keep up the facade of the American Dream lifestyle and 5th generation welfare titty suckers training their own kids how to abuse the system. What if it all disappears? What if it all disappears in one instant?

What happened to our society? What can we do to change it? Unfortunately, this society is so far gone there’s not a whole lot we can do anymore. Government titty suckers vote too, and they don’t want to give up their ‘free’ money. I am a free soul. I am creative, I am not dependent on the government, I still have a good work ethic, and I don’t need all the latest gadgetry or i-thingy. I rely on God first, myself second, my family third. Everything I own I worked for. I live now as I prepare to live post-SHTF. Why? Because I choose to. The lifestyle makes me a freer person, independent from the very things wishing to entrap me.

May God grant you all peace.

My Winter Bug-Out-Bag.

Please forgive me for not posting for a while, I was spending Christmas with my possible future in-laws and was trying to make a good impression. That and my computer is still slowly giving up the ghost one byte at a time and freezes constantly.

Now to get ME on topic. I decided to leave Free Soul Boyfriend’s place last night and try to drive home and beat the coming blizzard. I ended up having to park at a crossroads off the freeway and taking a one hour cat nap, then I was able drive home OK. Was I scared? Not in the least. Lock the doors and keep the pistol handy. The next day, today, I decided to really take a look at my vehicle go-bag and go through it. Free Soul Boyfriend lives about 2 hours from me and my folks, so if I get stranded out there I’ve got quite a walk, especially in winter. So I hauled inside my vehicle go-bag and emptied it out on Free Soul Mama’s reclining chair. It’s OK, she’s at work.

First, I took out the three MREs and gave them back to Free Soul Papa. We can’t afford the good ones and I can’t stomach the ones we have. I replaced them with two canned soups, one canned fruit, and one can of rice and beans. A little more weight, sure, but they taste far better and I can reuse the cans for various purposes. I also added a pouch full of mint and chamomile teas and granola bars. Peppermint and spearmint tea are good for the digestive tract and chamomile tea is good for calming yourself down and the chamomile tea bags can be wetted and used as a poultice for skin irritations. Peanut butter granola bars are great for energy. I also added raw, unprocessed honey which has anti-biotic properties and great nutritional benefits. I  found that I had forgotten to add a wool sweater.

I also rethought the way I packed it. Yes, I had the stuff on the top that was supposed to be on the bottom and vise versa. Oops. Extra boots on the bottom, warm clothes on the top. Good girl.

Also in my go-bag are a mini sewing kit, extra camo clothing, extra socks and gutchies, mini hygiene kit, mini first aid kit, extra boots, about 3 days of food, two water bottles with ceramic Berkey style filters, a hatchet, black duct tape, lighters, nail clippers, pens and paper, a camo bandana, face paint, and chocolate. That’s all I’m willing to tell you at least. If I’m out and things go down, all I need to do is reach the rural area right outside the city and I can turn into a near invisible prepper just heading home.

What I need to get is some snow camo. Should have put it on my Christmas wish-list. Snow camo will have to take a new high priority on my list. I also need to find a small earth-tone color tarp. I also lost my mini flashlight that I always keep on my person and have to get more. It was a streamlight and that breaks my heart.

If anyone has anything else to add, feel free to post comments containing useful info as I’m always all ears to new info. May God grant you all peace and lots of ammo.
