Incense Sticks And Chocolate Bits

Incense and chocolate are two items that I stock up on for a long term disaster situation. Sounds a little frivilous doesn’t it? After a stressful day at the shop, nothing calms me better than patchouli and a peanutbutter cup. Add Celtic music and I’m as close to paradise as I’ll get here on earth. Incense and chocolate are my stress relievers. Everyone knows that there will be massive amounts of stress in a crisis of any kind, so wouldn’t it make sense to stockpile stress relievers? In fact, sometimes it’s those little things that will will keep you from losing it when shtf (schumer hits the fan). So maybe purchasing a couple of thousand unscented tea lights for your tart burner is a really great idea! Here on the homestead, even Free Soul Papa has begun to really like the smell of burning incense or tarts.

Everyone’s stress relievers are different. Some get along just fine with a good book and cup of hot tea while others need to attack a punching bag. Having ways to relieve stress when shtf will not only help you to keep more balanced and able to make better decisions, but also make everyone else living with you a lot happier as well. I don’t know about you, but without stress relievers I would pretty much act as if I were in PMS 100% of the time. That picture isn’t pretty, believe me. For me, incense sticks and chocolate bits are just as important as the beans, bullets, and bandaids. Without them, my family couldn’t live with me. Though I’m better than what I used to be, I still tend not to take stress well.

In conclusion, don’t feel guilty about buying a few little things that will make life much better when under a high stress situation such as a disaster. Go ahead. Stock up on all that candy that’s now on sale 😀
